Ever feel like your brain is running a marathon while you’re just trying to get through one simple task?
Today, something hit me while I was working.
THE POWER OF understanding coaching
TMy brain felt like it was splitting in six different directions, just drifting, even though what I was doing wasn’t even hard.
Sound familiar?
Maybe you’re like me, and your to do list feels like an endless game of mental ping-pong.
But here’s what I learned that actually helped me, and I know it’ll help you too.
First, Simplify to One Step at a Time.
When I looked at the whole plan, it was like my brain just checked out. So I took one small step and committed to it for tomorrow morning.
For example, my First Action: Tomorrow, from 10-11 am, I’ll focus solely on ONE action, e.g. going for a run.
And that’s it.
Once I finish that, I’ll check in with myself and see how I’m feeling.
“Keeping it to a single step helps you actually start and keeps you moving forward without the overwhelm.”
Next, I tried a new trick: Visual or Auditory Reminders.
Here’s what worked:
• Visual: I wrote each action on sticky notes and stuck them right in front of me. It’s way harder to ignore than a long, invisible checklist.
• Auditory: I recorded a quick voice memo of my daily goals and played it back each morning. Just hearing it helped my mind focus.
Honestly, these tiny shifts made a huge difference for me, and I know they can for you too.
So if you’re feeling scattered, try these out.
